Performers Biographies

    GARETH URWIN:

Gareth began his comedy career in early 2007 as part of “Comedy Republik”, performing improvised comedy and sketches over the duration of their two hour show. From here, Gareth has gone on to become a promising new act on the stand up circuit receiving acclaim for the originality of his comedy writing. Much of Gareth’s comedy focuses on his love of Astronomy, Science and dislike of overweight pop idol contestants.

"One of the most original and promising new acts on the circuit" - Spikey Mike, Funhouse Comedy

“Biggest success of the night….his improvised fills kept the packed bar entertained, succeeding where others had failed”  - Exposed Magazine, April 2008

“One of the best written pieces of stand up I have seen in many a long year” – Speakeasy Comedy Club

“Strong material, great delivery” – Comedy Balloon Manchester

“This guy has potential…when he was good, he was good” – Cheeky Monkey Comedy Club, Birmingham

  LEROY:

Starting his comedy career in March 2006, Leroy is bringing his own unique individual cheeky Yorkshire charm to the stage. Hailing from Rotherham he takes his 27 year old frame and chooses topics that aren't the norm (CSI set in Barnsley and why he keeps getting beat up by his wife every time they play on Nintendo Wii).

"A camp ray of Rotherham Sunshine" - Long Live Comedy Newcastle

'Well observed, strong material delivered with great energy, a real crowd pleaser' - Stage time Comedy, Scarborough

“Move aside Chuckle Brothers, Rotherham has a new star” – Abbcom Comedy.

 SIMON GUNNELL:

Simon followed his mate Gareth into comedy because he didn’t want to be left alone and lonely.  Initially writing sketches and songs for his own amusement, Simon began to perform as part of “Comedy Republik” and in 2007 started doing stand up. His laid-back comedy style has received acclaim for its originality and excellent delivery.

“Excellent” – Black swan comedy

“Great” – Long Live Comedy

“Take a bow” – Exposed Magazine
